Inauguration Run

Awesome to live in the DC area at times history is being made. My husband took a bike ride from our house early on Tues morning and took the following pictures. I ran into town that afternoon and got a taste of it myself. So many happy people, such celebration. It was so encouraging for our country. I got within a couple blocks of the Capitol but in the afternoon the mall was basically cut off from everything else for the parade security. I saw the floats but only saw the President's limo on the jumbo-tron. It was powerful to watch the festivities on TV all day and then go down there and get a real sense of the action.

As far as the run goes, it was longer than I have been running since the marathon, I think I did a little over 8 miles. It felt so good to come home with a hungry and tired body. Haven't been feeling like that with all the short runs I have been doing. It felt great!
